“ The Auerhahn welcomed us for our evening visit with its slightly rustic interior and charmingly kitschy "tree in the dining room." We had reserved a table for six, but that would have been unnecessary. The menu was concise and clearly focused on meat dishes; salads weren't listed separately, only available as a side. The desserts, however, sounded interesting. The service was quick, friendly, and humorous, always keeping an eye on our table. While we were eating, three other tables were occupied and then vacated. We enjoyed our meal without feeling rushed. I had the beef roulade with Thuringian dumplings and was delighted; the meat melted in my mouth, the flavors were perfectly balanced, and the red cabbage and dumplings were fantastic. For dessert, we had another dumpling—a deep-fried ice cream. We had a wonderful evening at the Auerhahn with delicious food. With five people dining and one only having drinks, the bill of €180 was absolutely justified. A great place that can be recommended without hesitation. ”

I ordered the roulade with red cabbage and dumplings and was thrilled with the delicious meal that was served. The roulade was exceptionally tender and bursting with flavor. I can say the same about the red cabbage and dumplings. All in all, it far exceeded my expectations. Congratulations to the kitchen! ”

The fried dumplings and tomato soup as starters were delicious, and the roulades, half a duck, roast venison, and shoulder of pork were also a treat. The highlight was the fantastic selection of desserts. Despite being a group of 10, we didn't have to wait long, and the service was very nice, friendly, and quick. We also really liked the ambiance. Fortunately, that's a matter of taste. We felt so comfortable that we returned again with a smaller group to round off our vacation. This is exactly how we imagined Thuringian cuisine to be. ”
